4H Youth Development

For over 100 years 4-H'ers have enjoyed fun, hands-on learning activities supported by the latest research of land-grant universities.  In Rensselaer County, thousands of youth between the ages of 5 and 19 participate in traditional clubs, special interest groups, and school enrichment programs.  See What's Happening in Rensselaer County now!

The 4-H Teen Exchange is constructing 12-inch pine wreaths, 10-inch boxwood, laurel and pine/boxwood mixed wreaths and pine door swags. Wreaths may be purchased plain or with a simple bow. Orders are being taken until November 21, 2014. Wreaths will be ready the first week of December. Orders must be prepaid and can be mailed to CCE, 61 State Street, Troy, NY 12180 attn: Bernie Wiesen. All proceeds go towards the Teen Interstate Exchange.
Support Rensselaer County 4H programs by purchasing locally produced maple syrup. Return the 4-H Maple Fundraiser form by November 1, 2014 for Thanksgiving orders and by December 1, 2014 for Christmas orders. The order form shows the many sizes and bottles available for purchase. Orders must be prepaid and can be picked up at the CCE office, 61 State Street, Troy, NY 12180. For more information call 272-4210.
November 7, 2014, 7:00pm at the Tamarac Middle School Cafeteria. Please bring your own place setting and dish to pass. Please RSVP to the CCE office by October 24, 2014.
November 13, 2014, 6:00pm at the CCE offices, Troy, NY. Open to Parents, Teen and Adult Leaders.  Workshop programs include: Teaching Public Speaking, Recycled Holiday Decorations and Decorative Nature Candles. $10 fee covers supplies for all workshops.
